Anthracite is a gene that causes the dorsal spine of snake to darken dramatically and shows some pixelation with age. Anthracite also brings in black edging on the alien heads. Darkening starts around 8-12 months. The gene isn't fully understood as yet but shows promise and is exciting to work with as many new gene stack interactions will be determined in the future.
